ABOUT BH GENETICS

Bart L. Hajovsky

Bart, along with his wife Karen, established BH Genetics in 1998. He was formerly a dealer/supervisor for a major seed corn company, where he managed employees and a sales territory that covered a quarter of Texas. Bart attended Wharton County Junior College and then after a short time working for other farming operations began his own agricultural efforts. Bart and his wife Karen currently reside at in Ganado, Texas. All four of their children are married and three are actively involved in the day to day operations at BH Genetics.

Karen Hajovsky

Karen was a critical part in the establishment of BH Genetics in 1998. She has been actively involved with the day to day operations since the beginning including short and long term business planning. Karen has always been involved with Bart's business ventures throughout her career.

Laurie Mayer Kovar

As Controller at BH Genetics, Laurie oversees the accounting and financial operations of BH Genetics. She is responsible for recording all financial transactions, including the accounts receivables of all seed sales, inventory of all seed available for sale, and expenses associated with the production and distribution of seed. Prior to joining BH Genetics, Laurie, a Certified Public Accountant, gained over 13 years of experience with several accounting firms including Arthur Andersen, L.L.P. in Houston, Texas; Deloitte and Touche, L.L.P. in Houston, Texas; Bumgardner, Morrison & Company, L.L.P in Victoria, Texas and served as Chief Financial Officer of Calhoun County Appraisal District in Port Lavaca, Texas. She received her Master in Professional Accounting and Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin. Laurie and her husband, Ronnie, and her son, Jake, currently reside in Victoria, Texas.

Emily Green

Emily was born and raised in Louise, TX. She graduated from Wharton County Junior College, with a Associates in Office and Business Administration. In her spare time Emily enjoys hunting and fishing with her family. Emily, her husband Jeff and their two children reside in Edna, TX.

Kimberly Kelly

Kimberly, the only daughter of Bart & Karen, was born and raised in Ganado, Texas on the farm with her family. She worked in numerous agriculture businesses throughout her life. She is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Agricultural Leadership & Development. After a short time in the technology industry, Kimberly found herself drawn back to agriculture and joined the family business in 2012. Kimberly, her husband David and their three children currently reside in El Campo, Texas.

James Grichar

James was raised in the central Texas town of Bremond and graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Botany in 1972 and received his Master’s degree in Plant Protection in 1975. He was employed with Texas AgriLife Research for 37 years doing research in various aspects of production agriculture with several different field crops including peanuts, soybeans, corn, grain sorghum, and sesame. Retired from Texas AgriLife Research after 37 years at the end of January, 2012 and joined the BH team on March 1. In his spare time he enjoys the outdoors and especially enjoys turkey and deer hunting. James and his wife, Dimple, reside in Yoakum and they have a grown son and daughter.

Chris Hajovsky

Chris, the eldest son of Bart & Karen, was born and raised in Ganado, Texas on the farm. He has spent his entire life working on the farm and in the seed business helping grow each to where they are today. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Rangeland Ecology & Management. Chris, his wife Lauren and their three children currently reside in Ganado, Texas

Matthew Hajovsky

Northern Territory Manager

Matthew, the youngest son of Bart & Karen, was born and raised in Ganado, Texas on the farm. He has been involved with the farm and seed business since an early age. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Business Management. After 2 years at a logistics company, he made the transition back to the seed company to support the northern territories. Matt, his wife, Ashley, and their daughter Aubrey currently reside in Little Elm, Texas.

Eric Merta

Eric was born and raised on a family farm in Louise, Texas. He has worked in agriculture his entire life. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Ag Business. He loves to be outdoors and enjoys deer hunting in his spare time. Eric, his wife Ashley and their two daughters, Addisyn & Ansleigh, live in El Campo, Texas.

David Little

David was born and raised in Columbus, Texas. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor's degree in Animal Science. After graduation, he worked for T Cattle Company in Garwood, Texas for 30 years. They grew corn, soybeans, and milo as well as ran a cow calf operation. David joined the BH Genetics family in October 2005 as a Sales Rep. In his spare time, David enjoys working his own cattle and preparing students for commercial steer competitions in San Antonio, Houston, and Canyon. David and his wife Debbie now reside in Weimar, Texas and have two grown sons.

Creston Voges

Creston was born and raised on a family farm in Riesel, Texas. After graduating from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Agronomy in 1992, he moved to Southern Indiana to begin his professional career in agriculture. He met his wife Angie soon after moving to Southern Indiana. Ten years later, he returned to Central Texas with his wife and two children. He and his brother operate their family farm together which consists of both row crops and a cow-calf operation. Creston and Angie currently live in Lorena, Texas and enjoy fishing when they aren’t busy with their work, farm or college aged children.

Ron Pippen

Ron was born and raised in the northeastern corner of North Carolina and he has an extensive background in agriculture. He grew up farming with his grandfather and it has become his passion. He worked for a local farmer for 12 years until an opportunity was presented to manage a large farm which he has done for 13 years.  Ron has been planting and selling BH Genetics products for over 6 years. Ron and his wife, Sherry, live in Elizabeth City, North Carolina.

Jason Hale

Jason was born and raised in Northeast Louisiana in the Delta. He has been involved in farming and agriculture all of his life. He and his brother now own a farm together. He us a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Monroe, where he earned a BS in agribusiness, with minors in agronomy, plant science, animal science and ag economics. He has worked in the seed and chemical business at the retail and wholesale levels for the past 15 years, with Jimmy Sanders and Progeny Ag Products, and now BH genetics. He and his family currently reside in Delhi, Louisiana.
